Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to your data when you visit parasignals.de. It covers this website. Our apps have a separate policy.
Last updated: July 2026 · This is a convenience translation. In case of doubt, the German version applies.

2. What this website does not do
This answers the most common questions up front:
- There are no analytics or tracking tools — no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no tracking pixels.
- No fonts or scripts are loaded from third-party servers. Everything is hosted on our own server, so your IP address is not passed on to anyone.
- There are no embedded videos or maps.
- There are no social media plugins — only ordinary links that do nothing until you click them.
- There is no newsletter and no comment function.
- There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.
That is also why you will not see a cookie banner here: there is nothing to consent to beyond what is technically necessary.
3. Visiting the website (server log files)
Each time a page is requested, our server automatically records the information your browser transmits:
- the address requested
- date and time
- amount of data transferred
- browser and operating system
- the previously visited page (referrer)
- IP address
This information is technically necessary to deliver the website and helps us detect faults and attacks. It is not combined with other data and is not used to identify you.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in
secure, trouble-free operation.
Retention: usually 7 days, then deleted automatically.
Longer only while a specific incident is being investigated.
4. Encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption throughout, shown by
https:// in the address bar and the padlock symbol. What you
send us cannot be read in transit.
5. Cookies
We use exactly two cookies. Both are technically necessary, contain no advertising identifier and are not shared with anyone.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ps_lang |
Remembers whether you read the site in German or English. Without it you would have to switch on every visit. | 1 year |
ps_sess |
Set on the contact page only. It holds the token we use to check that the form was really submitted from our site. | until you close the browser |
Legal basis: § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG — both cookies are strictly necessary for the service you requested. Additionally Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time. The site will then no longer remember your language choice, and the contact form may not work.
6. Contact form
When you write to us using the form, we process:
- name
- email address
- the topic you selected
- subject
- your message
- the time it was sent
This information is sent by email to info@parasignals.de and nowhere else. There is no database on this website in which enquiries would be stored.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — the consent you give with
the checkbox in the form. Where the enquiry concerns a prospective
contract, additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Retention: we keep your message in our mailbox until your
enquiry has been dealt with and no further questions are expected.
Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Protection against automated bulk submissions
So the form cannot be abused by programs sending advertising, we deliberately do not use Google reCAPTCHA — that would transfer your data to Google. Instead we use:
- an extra field invisible to you that only programs fill in
- a minimum time between opening and submitting the form
- a limit of a few messages per hour
For that limit your IP address is not stored. It is converted into an irreversible check value, which is deleted automatically after at most two hours and allows no conclusions about you.
7. Contact by email
If you email us directly, we process your address and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or (b) for contract-related enquiries.
8. Links to social networks
In the header and footer you will find links to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Discord. These are plain links, not plugins. Unless you click them, none of these networks learns anything about your visit — no icons or scripts are loaded from them.
Once you click a link, you leave our site and the privacy policy of that provider applies. We have no influence over their processing.
9. Amazon affiliate programme
We take part in the Amazon EU affiliate programme. Some links on our site
(recognisable by amzn.to) contain an identifier that earns us a
commission if you buy something there. The price is the same for you either
way.
Amazon only processes your data once you click such a link. Legal basis for including them is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our commercial interest.
10. Donations via PayPal
Our donations page links to PayPal.me. This too is a plain link. If you decide to donate, PayPal handles the payment and is responsible for the data involved. We only learn that a donation was made and its amount.
11. Shop
Our shop is run by an external provider (Spreadshop) and hosted on their site. Their terms and privacy policy apply to orders placed there.
12. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access the data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)
An informal message to info@parasignals.de is enough.
Withdrawing consent
Where you have consented to processing — for example when using the contact form — you may withdraw that consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Complaint to a supervisory authority
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, but you may contact any supervisory authority, in particular the one where you live.
13. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the website changes or the legal situation requires it. The version published here is the one that applies.
